Tough as Stone delivers at Corowa

Three-year-old gelding Tough as Stone knocked off his maiden victory in Race 2 of the Carlton & United Breweries Country Boosted Maiden Plate at Corowa.

Trained by Matt Dale, the progressive gelding proved too tough for his rivals, producing a determined performance to break through for a 2.7L victory.

Ridden confidently by jockey Brodie Loy, Tough as Stone showed grit in straight to secure the victory and reward connections who purchased the gelding in February for just $14,000.

The win is especially significant for the ownership group, with the three-year-old already returning his purchase price in prizemoney after just a handful of starts.

With his name proving fitting on race day, Tough as Stone looks a horse on the upward trajectory as he continues his racing career under the care of the Dale stable.
